About the role

Lead a talented kitchen team in creating consistently excellent dishes for a busy hospitality venue in Smithfield. You'll drive kitchen operations, set standards, and build a culture where both your team and diners thrive.

What you'll do

• Oversee all kitchen operations, from menu planning and food costing to staff scheduling and inventory management
• Mentor and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring food quality, consistency, and presentation meet your high standards
• Maintain strict food safety and hygiene protocols across all stations and procedures
• Manage supplier relationships, source quality ingredients, and control food costs without compromising on quality
• Lead kitchen innovation—develop specials, refine existing dishes, and respond to seasonal opportunities
• Work closely with front-of-house management to ensure smooth service delivery during peak periods

What we're looking for

You'll have substantial experience as a head chef or senior kitchen leader, ideally in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You're confident managing budgets, rosters, and teams of varying experience levels. You hold current Food Safety and Hygiene certification and an RSA where applicable to your venue.

Your technical skills are solid across multiple cooking techniques, and you're passionate about ingredient quality and menu development. You communicate clearly with your team and aren't afraid to make decisions under pressure. A passion for hospitality and genuine care for your staff sets you apart.
