THE ROLE
About the role
Join our kitchen team in Kew and help us deliver consistent, high-quality dishes across a busy service. This is your chance to hone your skills in a supportive environment where your contributions directly shape what we put on plates.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to specification, maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Manage your station during service, keeping pace with orders and communicating effectively with the team
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards across prep, cooking, and plating
- Contribute to mise en place and station setup before service begins
- Support junior kitchen staff and contribute ideas to menu refinement
What we're looking for
You'll have solid experience working in a professional kitchen—ideally at least 2–3 years as a commis or section chef. You're comfortable working under pressure, take pride in your work, and can communicate clearly with your team. We'd love to see evidence of Food Safety Supervisor certification (or willingness to obtain it), and your RSA is essential.
Strong knife skills, knowledge of fundamental cooking techniques, and reliability matter more than a fancy resume. If you're enthusiastic, keen to learn, and genuinely interested in hospitality, we want to hear from you.
Why you'll like it here
You'll work with fresh, quality ingredients in a venue that values consistency and teamwork. Part-time hours suit people looking for flexibility without sacrificing the rigour of real kitchen work. We invest in staff who show commitment.
Pay $33–$34/hr
